Delightful Antique French Renaissance walnut servery, dumb waiter or small sideboard. This lovely piece is definitely antique and we would date it to c1880. It would be ideal in the loungeroom, in the hall or entry foyer, or any area of the home requiring additional surface space.
This is such a pretty and versatile piece of antique furniture. It features two carved wave-front drawers with original handles. The carving is deep and impressive, and whilst a real feature of the piece, it tones in beautifully with the straight lines and soft features of the entire piece. The drawers sit above a single shaped shelf and base platform. It has fluted, shaped columns to the front. The simple panelled back has decorative carving to each side, and the carved decoration to the sides is a real feature.
The servery measures 120cm wide, 54.4cm deep and is 99cm in overall height. This piece presents beautifully, with a low sheen and natural patina. It is in very good antique condition, though it does have a repaired split in the top surface, leading to some uneveness. There is also a ring mark to the shelf. As with all antique and vintage furniture age-appropriate wear and character marks should be expected.
